Cobb Electric Membership Corporation - Business EV Charger Grant Program

Cobb EMC's EV Charger Grant provides $500–$5,000 toward purchasing and installing Level 2 or DC fast charging equipment at your commercial property, helping offset upfront costs while positioning your business as EV-ready. To apply, complete an interest form, submit a grant application to EVforBusiness@cobbemc.com, and upon approval, proceed with installation through QMerit or an approved contractor; Cobb EMC will mail your grant check after verifying the installation against submitted invoices, photos, and permits.

This program enables your commercial customers to reduce their net installation costs by $500–$5,000, making projects more attractive and competitive; you must be licensed, follow all state and local codes, and ensure the charger meets Cobb EMC's branding and protective requirements (wheel stops/bollards, EV-only parking signage). Cobb EMC verifies installations before reimbursement, so accurate documentation of equipment, labor, permits, and photos is essential for customer grant approval.

The program distributes grants from a fixed annual pool on a first-come, first-served basis (until funds exhaust) to non-residential Cobb EMC members—businesses, property owners, multifamily operators, and government agencies—with preference given to projects offering public access or serving the most users. Applicants submit one application per meter address; Cobb EMC reviews within 5 business days and disburses via check within 8–12 weeks post-verification, requiring applicants to maintain chargers for three years, pay for electricity used, and display Cobb EMC branding; chargers must have been in operation since January 1, 2019 or later.
