EV Charging Program
Administered by Eversource and United Illuminating
Connecticut's EV Charging Program offers up to $1,000 to help pay for a networked Level 2 charger, electrical upgrades, or both—apply through your electric utility (Eversource Energy or United Illuminating) using their residential rebate application. You can also earn $120 to $300 per year by enrolling in the Managed Charging program to shift your charging to off-peak hours.
This program creates demand for Level 2 EVSE installation and electrical upgrades in residential and multifamily markets; residential customers can claim up to $1,000 per installation. For commercial work, you can help customers access rebates covering up to 50% of Level 2 or DCFC equipment costs and up to 100% of DCFC make-ready costs, with maximum incentives of $20,000 per site for Level 2 and $150,000 for DCFC (higher in underserved communities)—sites must have at least two charging ports to qualify.
This nine-year program (launched January 2022) is administered by Connecticut's two regulated utilities—Eversource Energy and United Illuminating—under PURA oversight, targeting deployment of 65,000+ residential and commercial EV charging ports by 2030. The program provides tiered rebates across three deployment phases for residential Level 2 (50,000 ports planned), multifamily Level 2 (21,639 ports), destination Level 2 (4,868 ports), and workplace/fleet infrastructure; additional funding ($20,000–$100,000 per site) supports deployment in underserved communities.

Program summary
The EV Charging program provides incentives for residential, multifamily, public, workplace, and fleet customers covering Level 2 chargers, DCFCs, and make-ready infrastructure.
Residential customers can receive up to $1,000 for a networked Level 2 EVSE and/or electrical upgrades.
Commercial customers (multifamily, public, workplace, and fleet) can receive up to 50% of costs for a Level 2 charger or DCFC, up to 50% of costs for Level 2 make-ready installation, and up to 100% of costs for DCFC make-ready installation. The maximum incentive is $20,000 per site for Level 2 and $150,000 per site for DCFC; sites in underserved communities can receive an additional $20,000 per site for Level 2 and $100,000 per site for DCFC. A site must have at least two ports to receive a rebate.
