Georgia - Home Efficiency Rebate (HER) Program

Georgia's Home Efficiency Rebate program provides rebates for whole-home energy upgrades based on your household income (as a percentage of area median income) and the energy savings your improvements achieve. Rebates range from $2,000 to $16,000 depending on your income level and savings percentage—households below 80% AMI with 35% or greater savings can receive up to $16,000. To participate, contact a program-approved contractor for a home energy assessment, which may have associated costs that contractors can sometimes include in your final bill.

The HER program allows you to help residential customers finance efficiency retrofits and electrification projects by conducting home energy assessments and submitting scopes of work that project energy savings. Your customers' rebate amounts are determined by their household income relative to county AMI and total expected energy savings (ranging from 20% to 98% reductions); you'll need to be approved by the program and can search the contractor directory to verify your status.
