If you develop commercial EV charging infrastructure, Missouri will issue an RFP for NEVI funding during 2024-2025; funded stations must be spaced roughly 50 miles apart and located within one mile of an Interstate exit or highway. This is a federal program with $5 billion nationally allocated to states, so competitive proposals and compliance with spacing/location rules will be essential.
Missouri administers a share of the $5 billion federal NEVI Formula Grant Program created by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act; funding targets deployment of DC fast charging along designated alternative fuel corridors with 50-mile spacing and proximity to Interstate exits. Program summary
Note: The Federal Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) created the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Formula Grant Program with a total budget of $5 billion. Each state was allocated a share of that total to help build out a national network of electric vehicle charging stations along designated alternative fuel corridors (AFCs). With some limited exceptions, EV charging stations funded through the NEVI program should be spaced 50 miles apart and within one mile of the Interstate exit or highway.
Under the Missouri Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Deployment Plan, Missouri plans to release a Request for Proposals for NEVI funding at some point in 2024-2025.
