Program Summary

The Georgia Department of Transportation (DOT) will conduct a competitive solicitation process using NEVI funding to complete NEVI-compliant charging infrastructure. The public-private partnerships created will advance the state's plan to build out 1,523 miles of EV corridors. An RFP was released on July 25, 2023, with an end date of November 17, 2023 (later updated to November 27, 2023). The Georgia DOT released its 2023 plan update during Q3 2023, detailing that it expects to award the first contracts in early 2024 as a result of its July 2023 RFP.In preparation for Round 2, the Georgia DOT filed an NOIA in early May 2024, which had an end date of July 1, 2024. The agency has identified 33 locations for NEVI Round 2. Round 2's RFP was open from July 1, 2024, to September 30, 2024; selections were made on February 20, 2025, for 33 locations, but the procurement was paused due to federal suspension of the program.Another updated plan was approved in September 2025, which details 20 ports that are funded by FY2022-2023 that will be operational by the end of 2025 at the latest. The state further mentioned that it will restart its Round 2 solicitation, for which the Georgia DOT awarded $24.4 million for 26 charging station locations on November 20, 2025.
