Green Mountain Power EV Rebate Program

Green Mountain Power offers rebates up to $2,500 when you buy or lease an all-electric vehicle, with an extra $1,000 available if your household income is at or below 80% of Vermont's statewide median income. You can also receive up to $500 toward Level 2 EV charger installation and access discounted charging rates. To claim your rebate, gather your vehicle VIN, proof of purchase or lease, and Vermont DMV registration, then submit them online through GMP's rebate form or by mail to their Rutland office; participating dealers can apply the discount at purchase.

Dealers can streamline customer acquisition by becoming a participating dealership—over 70 dealers currently participate—and applying GMP's rebates as point-of-sale discounts rather than requiring customers to submit after-purchase claims. The program covers new and used all-electric vehicles ($1,500 new purchase, $1,000 lease or used) and plug-in hybrids ($1,000 new purchase, $750 lease or used), with an additional $1,000 available for income-qualified customers purchasing new or used all-electric vehicles through December 31, 2026. GMP also partners with Treehouse for charger installation, offering a $150 discount to customers who use their services.

The program issues rebates funded by GMP for qualifying electric vehicle purchases and leases—up to $2,500 per new AEV (or $2,000 for leases and used vehicles), with a $1,000 income adder capped at 80% of Vermont statewide median income by household size.
