The Lansing Board of Water and Light offers residential EV charging rebates to offset installation costs: up to $1,000 for a second meter installation (if you want hardwired charging and separate usage tracking), or up to $500 for off-peak charging (if you prefer a portable charger and time-of-use rates). BWL's program helps you serve customers installing Level-2 EV charging equipment by providing rebate funds that reduce customer out-of-pocket costs. You must review and agree to BWL's contractor process and documentation requirements; approved contractors are listed on the program page and can contact EVProgram@lbwl.com (residential) or UtilityServices@lbwl.com (commercial service needs) for guidance on installations and proper steps to ensure customer rebate eligibility.

The Lansing Board of Water and Light operates two distinct residential rebate tracks (second meter up to $1,000, off-peak up to $500) and commercial rebates (up to $7,500 for standard commercial/fleet charging, up to $13,500 for multifamily properties with 5+ units at up to $4,500 per station for up to 3 stations). The program targets BWL service-territory customers and explicitly excludes DC Fast Charging from commercial rebates. Participation requires contractor pre-approval and alignment with BWL's installation and documentation process.
