Pasadena Water and Power - Residential Electric Vehicle and Charger Incentive Program

Pasadena Water and Power residential electric customers can receive up to $250 for purchasing a used plug-in electric vehicle (up to $500 if bought from a Pasadena auto dealer, or up to $1,500 if enrolled in an income-qualifying program), and up to $600 for installing a Wi-Fi-enabled Level 2 home charger or $200 for a standard Level 2 charger. To apply, you must have an active PWP residential electric account, register the vehicle at your service address, obtain a City of Pasadena electrical permit for charger installation by a licensed contractor, and submit your rebate application online within 180 days of purchase or installation.

You can help PWP residential customers access rebates by ensuring Level 2 chargers (240V, SAE J1772 or Tesla connector) are new, wall-mounted units certified by a nationally recognized testing laboratory, properly permitted by the City of Pasadena, and installed in compliance with local codes and inspection requirements. Customers are limited to two chargers per residential address, and the rebate cannot exceed the actual equipment cost after subtracting any incentives from other sources.

PWP's program provides tiered rebates for used plug-in EVs ($250 base, $500 with Pasadena dealer purchase, $1,500 for income-qualified customers) and Level 2 chargers ($600 for Wi-Fi-enabled, $200 for standard models), limited to two per category per residential account.
