Program Summary

In July 2020 the Public Service Commission of New York issued an order, requiring Central Hudson Gas & Electric, Consolidated Edison, National Grid, New York State Electric & Gas, Orange and Rockland Utilities, and Rochester Gas and Electric (Joint Utilities) to implement the Make-Ready Program. The EV Make-Ready Program was designed to support the development of electric infrastructure and equipment necessary to accommodate an increased deployment of EVs within the state by reducing the upfront costs of building charging stations. Participants must apply to the program through the utility in whose electric service territory the proposed EV charging station will be located.
