VW Settlement Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment Grants

This program has closed as of September 2022 and is no longer accepting applications for electric vehicle charging equipment grants. Connecticut's Department of Energy and Environmental Protection previously offered funding through the VW Settlement Trust for Level 2 and DC fast charging installation, but no new rounds are currently open to homeowners.

The EVSE grant round for charging equipment closed in September 2022, so this program is not currently available for new projects. Contractors should monitor DEEP's website or contact DEEP.mobilesources@ct.gov for any future reopening of commercial electric vehicle charging infrastructure funding.

Connecticut received $55.7 million total from the VW Settlement Environmental Mitigation Trust; the EVSE program was one component of this allocation. Round 1 of the Light Duty Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Program closed September 30, 2022, with applications for Level 2 and DC fast charging equipment at commercial sites. The program is currently inactive, with no new application periods announced, though staff should refer applicants to current Diesel Emissions Mitigation Program rounds (including the 2026 Round 4 deadline of June 11, 2026) or direct inquiries to DEEP.mobilesources@ct.gov.
