Central Alabama Electric Cooperative - Residential Energy Efficiency Loan Program

CAEC members can finance energy efficiency improvements like heat pumps, insulation, windows, and water heaters through low-interest loans of $2,000–$20,000, with terms up to 10 years if a heat pump is included or 5 years otherwise. To qualify, you must receive electric service from CAEC, complete an energy audit, be in good standing, and work with a licensed contractor—start by contacting Cindy Browder at (800) 545-5735 ext. 2118 or cbrowder@coop.caec.com.

This program allows your residential customers to finance equipment and installation work on heat pumps, duct repair, insulation, air sealing, water heaters, windows, doors, thermostats, and related measures through CAEC's loan agreement with MAX Credit Union. All installations must be performed by a licensed contractor, and projects must be initiated by the homeowner contacting CAEC directly after they complete an energy audit.

CAEC administers low-interest financing through MAX Credit Union for members completing energy audits, with loan sizes from $2,000–$20,000 and repayment terms scaled to project type (up to 10 years with heat pumps, 5 years without). The program targets existing home and manufactured home owners who are CAEC members in good standing and serves to increase adoption of heating/cooling, insulation, water heating, and envelope improvements across the cooperative's residential service territory.
