Solar Photovoltaic Rebates

Florida Public Utilities offers a $2.00 per watt rebate for solar photovoltaic systems with a maximum rebate of $5000. In order to be eligible for a rebate, the purchase/installation must:Underwriters Laboratories (UL) approvedInstalled in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and manufacturer’s instructionsApproved by the local building department to the extent required by code and/or ordinance or any substitute certifying laboratory, agency or similar authoritySite selection is subject to FPU approval. Interested customers must contact FPU at 888.220.9356 to schedule a pre-installation inspection. Once approved for installation, customers will have 90 days to have their photovoltaic system installed and provide needed documentation. Excess power generated from your solar photovoltaic technology will be purchased by FPU.Solar Water Heater RebatesFlorida Public Utilities offers a $200 rebate for solar hot water systems. In order to be eligible for a rebate, the purchase/installation must:Be approved by the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO)Feature an Underwriters Laboratories (UL) approved controller, if one is necessaryBe installed in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and the manufacturer’s instructionsBe approved by the local building department to the extent required by code and/or ordinance or any substitute certifying laboratory, agency or similar authorityFeature new equipment and not involve any used or relocated equipmentThe customer must be the owner of the premise, which must be located in FPU’s electric service areaParticipants must have a south, east or west-facing roof area that is not shaded. (The same non-shaded restriction also applies to a ground-mounted system). Site selection is subject to FPU approval.
