LADWP - Feed-in Tariff (FiT) Program

Through LADWP's Feed-in Tariff program, you can sell solar energy generated on your property to the utility under a 20-year power purchase agreement at rates ranging from 13.5¢ to 14.5¢ per kWh depending on system size and location. To apply, submit a completed hard copy application package to LADWP's office at 111 N. Hope St, Room L-43, Los Angeles, CA 90012, along with application and study fees; your project must be located within LADWP's service territory and you must demonstrate site control.

The FiT program offers stable long-term revenue for your customers' renewable projects through standardized 20-year power purchase agreements with LADWP, with tiered pricing that favors smaller systems (30 kW–500 kW solar PV at 14.5¢/kWh). Your development team must include at least one member with prior experience developing similar projects in LADWP or Southern California Edison territories; applications are processed first-come, first-served with available capacity of 54.2 MW as of July 2026, and you'll need to submit application fees ($500–$1,500), integration study fees ($750–$2,500), and interconnection study fees ($1,500) based on project size.

LADWP's FiT program procures renewable energy via 20-year Standard Offer Power Purchase Agreements at capacity-based rates (13.5¢–14.5¢/kWh for solar PV), with 54.2 MW of capacity currently available from a 235 MW total program cap. The program serves residential, commercial, industrial, nonprofit, and agricultural sectors within LADWP's service territory; applicants must pay tiered application and study fees, demonstrate project team experience, and secure site control. Funding may be available through federal Inflation Reduction Act incentives for projects using prevailing wage labor or located in environmental justice communities, and a carport/canopy incentive offers $0.90–$1.70 per watt depending on system size and community designation.
