Program Summary
Commission "non-objection" as a pilot project Available to 1,500 customers. Customer homes will need to meet certain conditions including location, roof type, and roof direction. Customers receive a $30 month bill credit and pay for electricity as normal. All electricity generated by the rooftop system is fed back to the grid and resold by APS. APS will partner with Arizona installers to install systems. 10 MW: First stage 8 MW, Second stage 2 MW, coupled with distributed storage Cost recovery through future rate cases (technically doesn't need APS approval) - decision allows APS to go forward but does NOT approve cost recovery Strategic location of distributed solar for grid reliability: target specific distribution feeders west and southwest orientation to align production with peak periods APS cost cap of $25/kW and $28.5 million/year Must maintain cost parity for existing 3rd party solar customers Recommended stakeholder advisory group to set research goals: APS, ACC Staff, EPRI, RUCO, rooftop solar rep, university, etc
