Local Energy Audit Program

This program is not available to individual homeowners. It provides free energy audits exclusively for government buildings, state colleges, universities, and nonprofit organizations (501(c)(3) agencies). If your organization owns a public or nonprofit building such as a town hall, school, fire station, or community center, you may qualify—contact the program administrator for details on how to apply.

This program does not create direct contracting opportunities, as TRC manages the entire audit process from application through delivery. The free audits are performed for eligible public and nonprofit building owners to identify energy-saving opportunities.

The Local Government Energy Audit program provides no-cost energy audits for buildings owned by local governments, state colleges/universities, and 501(c)(3) nonprofits. TRC serves as the program manager, handling customer assistance, application processing, and audit delivery. The program targets institutional and public-sector facilities including offices, courtrooms, emergency services buildings, schools, and community centers to identify energy efficiency improvements.
