Texas Gas Service - Residential Solar Water Heating Rebate Program

Texas Gas Service offers a flat rebate of $750 for its residential customers within the Austin and Sunset Valley city limits for the installation and purchase of a new solar water heater with natural gas backup. Solar water heaters must be installed to support a new or existing natural gas appliance such as a boiler, storage, tankless or pool heating system. Solar appliances that do not work in conjunction with a natural gas appliance do not qualify. Only active systems with panels (or collectors) that are certified OG-100 by the Solar Rating Certification Corporation (SRCC) qualify for this rebate. Work must be completed by a licensed contractor and permit number must be included on application.  All applications for rebates must be preapproved. Both new and existing homes are both eligible.
