Focus on Energy offers free whole-building energy analyses and custom rebates for new commercial construction and major renovations to help you optimize building performance and reduce operating costs. Eligible projects over 5,000 square feet can receive design assistance at any stage—from early planning through construction—with incentives calculated based on your estimated energy savings from efficiency improvements.
You can help commercial clients access free Energy Design Assistance (EDA) or Express Energy Design Assistance (eEDA) that analyzes whole-building efficiency opportunities, and projects qualify for custom incentives based on verified energy savings once design is finalized. Focus on Energy supports new construction, additions, renovations, and change-of-use projects across commercial, industrial, multifamily, and other facility types, with rebates available for qualifying efficient equipment and systems.
Focus on Energy operates this program through multiple entry points: the EDA (comprehensive analysis for projects over 5,000 sq. ft. in early design), eEDA (online self-service tool for multifamily/warehouse/retail), and EDR (whole-building analysis for later-stage design), each providing free analysis followed by owner incentives based on modeled energy savings. The program has supported 250+ multifamily projects generating over $12 million in annual energy cost savings, targeting commercial real estate, industrial, multifamily, education, healthcare, and other sectors statewide.

Focus on Energy offers a variety of tools and financial incentives to eligible business customers to retro-commission buildings or design and build new buildings to optimize performance. Through Focus on Energy's Energy Design Assistance Program, customers will receive a free, customized, whole-building analysis of energy-saving design options. Focus on Energy prepares multiple design options, each progressively more efficient, so that building owners and design teams can customize dozens of design elements to maximize energy efficiency opportunities while balancing financial considerations.
