Program Summary

Effective immediately, the New Homes Program in Penn Power’s service area has been suspended. No further incentive checks will be issued for new homes in this area.   The Pennsylvania subsidiaries of FirstEnergy (Penelec and Met-Ed) offer rebates for builders of new, energy efficient homes. Each newly built home is eligible for a rebate of $400, plus $0.10/kWh saved annually over the reference home, as calculated by REM/Rate. In order to be eligible, all construction and installation requirements must be met. Qualifying homes will be Energy Star Certified, be 15% more efficient than current code, and be located within the service areas of one of Penelec or Met-Ed. For more information, contact your FirstEnergy utility or Performance Systems Development, the program administrator. Builders can view the program web site for more details on this offering.
