This program does not serve residential customers; only commercial, industrial, public, and agricultural businesses with active SoCalGas accounts are eligible. If your business operates qualifying natural gas equipment like boilers, water heaters, or commercial kitchen appliances, you can receive rebates ranging from $6.50 to $3,000 per unit by purchasing new efficient equipment, having it fully installed and operational, and submitting an application with receipts and manufacturer documentation.
You can help business customers access rebates for high-efficiency natural gas equipment installations across a wide range of technologies: boilers, water heaters, foodservice appliances, pool heaters, insulation, and more. For Space Heating Boilers specifically, you must be a licensed contractor and complete the Space Heating Authorization Form; all other installations require the customer to submit the completed online application with proof of purchase, manufacturer specs, and a signed W9 within the same calendar year as installation, with rebates typically issued within 45 business days of approval.
The 2025 Energy Efficiency Rebates for Business Program (EERB), administered by SoCalGas under California Public Utilities Commission oversight, distributes rebates on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are exhausted, with an extended deadline of January 31, 2026 (extended to December 31, 2026 for wildfire-impacted customers). The program targets commercial, industrial, public, and agricultural customers installing new natural gas equipment that exceeds California Title 20 and 24 standards; rebates are funded by California utility customers and range from $0.02 per square foot (infrared film) to $3,000 per unit (rotisserie ovens), with taxable rebates over $600 reported to the IRS on Form 1099.

Program summary
The 2025 SoCalGas Energy Efficiency Rebates for Business (EERB) Program offers financial incentives to commercial, industrial, public, and agricultural customers that install qualifying high-efficiency natural gas equipment. Residential customers are not eligible. To participate, applicants must have an active SoCalGas account, and all equipment must be new, fully installed, operational, and paid in full before submitting an application by January 31, 2026. Rebates are generally issued within 45 business days of approval, with some products eligible for instant discounts at the point of sale. Covered equipment includes boilers and water heaters, pool heaters, economizers, heat recovery systems, steam traps, recirculating pump controls, insulation and greenhouse products, foodservice appliances, laundry equipment, patio heaters, and solar thermal collectors. Rebates cannot exceed the cost of purchase and professional installation, and previously rebated equipment is not eligible. Certain measures may be combined with water agency incentives, and funding is limited and distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
