Program Summary
First Energy (Potomac Edison) provides incentives to builders of ENERGY STAR qualified, single-family homes. Incentives are awarded on a tiered basis and depend on the efficiency of the newly constructed home. Incentives range from $1,000 to $1,600 per home. Eligible homes must receive electric distribution service from Potomac Edison, pass ENERGY STAR inspections, and must be completed after January 1, 2012. Additionally, free training from Potomac Edison is available as well as marketing materials and support. Homebuilders must work with RESNET-accredited HERS Raters who are partners in the EPA ENERGY STAR for New Homes Program. HERS raters must also be approved participants in the New Homes Program. Please see qualified contractors and other important information on Watt Watchers' program web site.
