Program Summary
The GW-HELP program helps residents of City of Fredericksburg and surrounding counties analyze home energy use, detect energy loss and recommend energy conservation measures to make qualifying homes more energy-efficient.
The program offers a free home energy check-up & rebates for energy-saving retrofits to enable homeowners to afford energy-saving home improvements. Households in Caroline Co and City of Fredericksburg with total household incomes from 50% - 120% of 2011-2012 Area Median Income (AMI) are eligible for rebates and low-interest loans (once loan program is established). Higher income households (over 120% of AMI) in Fredericksburg and Caroline, Stafford and Spotsylvania Counties eligible for limited rebate (up to $500). Area Median Income (AMI) is annual computed for each metro area by the US Dept of Housing and Urban Development.
Note: Rebate benefit will be available for a limited period of time.
REBATE BENEFITS (City residents) Up to $2,350 for 4-person households with incomes between $53,050 and $79,575 Up to $3,850 for 4-person household with incomes between $79,575 and 106,099 Up to $5,850 for 4-person households with incomes between $106,100 and $127,320 Up to $500 for 4-person households with incomes over $127,320* *also applies to similar households in Spotsylvania and Stafford Counties.
