Program Summary

Note: This program will be suspended on December 31, 2014 following the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio approval of FirstEnergy Ohio's proposal to suspend the vast majority of its energy efficiency programs.

Ohio subsidiaries of FirstEnergy (Ohio Edison, The Illuminating Company, Toledo Edison) offer rebates for the installation of certain energy efficiency improvements for commercial customers. These programs were created in response to Ohio Senate Bill 221, and funded by all non-residential customers of First Energy. Live webinar presentations are available on the website above to inform customers of new programs and program updates. Incentives help cover the cost of energy efficiency upgrades involving HVAC equipment, commercial cooking equipment, motors, variable frequency drives, lighting measures, and custom measures. Projects must be approved before measures are implemented, except in the case of the Mercantile Customer Program. Nine trade associations serve as program delivery administrators and are equipped to support members in the incentive application process.
