Wellesley Municipal Light Plant - Residential Energy Efficiency Rebate Program

Wellesley Municipal Light Plant customers can receive rebates for Energy Star-certified appliances like clothes washers, dishwashers, refrigerators, dehumidifiers, air conditioners, and programmable thermostats, with a limit of two items per account per calendar year. To apply, submit proof of purchase and a copy of the yellow Energy Guide label showing the Energy Star logo within six months of purchase, either online or by mail to the Customer Service desk at (781) 235-7600.

Contractors can help Wellesley WMLP customers access rebates by ensuring equipment is Energy Star-certified and new, and by providing itemized invoices clearly separating equipment cost from installation costs. The program requires customers to have active accounts in good standing (at least 6 months satisfactory payment history) and permanent installation at the service address; WMLP reserves the right to verify installations.

WMLP administers rebates for qualifying residential appliances with a six-month submission window post-purchase, issued as mailed checks within 4–6 weeks. Eligibility requires active accounts in good standing with satisfactory payment history; Energy Star certification; and proof of purchase with yellow Energy Guide labels. The program excludes new construction, major renovations, leased or portable equipment, and certain customers of National Grid (gas) for specific equipment categories per MassSave coordination.
