Energy Smart - Commercial and Industrial Energy Efficiency Rebate Program (17 Municipalities)

If you operate a qualifying business served by one of 17 Michigan municipal utilities, you can receive rebates on energy-efficient equipment including lighting, HVAC, refrigeration, motors, and controls. You can help commercial and industrial customers in the 17 participating Michigan municipalities access rebates on a broad range of efficiency measures: LED and other lighting upgrades, HVAC equipment (heat pumps, air conditioners, chillers), compressed air systems, commercial refrigeration, motors with VFDs, building controls, and custom measures. All equipment must meet program standards outlined in the application; refer customers to the Program Application and mienergysmart.com to verify eligibility and specifications before installation.
Franklin Energy Services administers this rebate initiative across 17 MPPA municipal utilities covering Bay City, Charlevoix, Chelsea, Dowagiac, Eaton Rapids, Grand Haven, Harbor Springs, Hart, Lowell, Marquette, Paw Paw, Petoskey, Portland, Sebewaing, St. Louis, Sturgis, Wakefield, Wyandotte, and Zeeland. The program targets commercial and industrial electric customers with rebates for lighting, HVAC, refrigeration, motors, VFDs, compressed air, controls, and energy management systems; a companion Small Business Direct Install Program provides free products to eligible small businesses. Applicants must submit forms via mienergysmart.com and ensure all equipment meets documented program standards.

Program summary
Franklin Energy Services has partnered with the Michigan Public Power Agency (MPPA), which is made up of 17 municipal utilities, to offer the Energy Smart Commercial and Industrial Energy Efficiency Rebate Program. Eligible business electric customers served by one of the 17 participating utilities may receive rebates on energy efficient lighting, controls, refrigeration, HVAC equipment, or several other energy efficient measures. Refer to the Program Application for all equipment requirements and guidelines. Purchased products must meet all program standards in order to receive rebates. The Small Business Direct Install Program offers free energy-saving products. Application forms for each municipality may be found on the program web site (mienergysmart.com).
