If you're a Piedmont Electric member, you can borrow up to $30,000 over 10 years at market interest rates to install energy-efficient upgrades like heat pumps, insulation, windows, doors, solar panels, or EV charging stations in your existing home. You can help Piedmont Electric members finance their home upgrades through this program, which covers a broad range of technologies including heat pumps, solar equipment, insulation, windows, doors, and EV charging infrastructure. Customers qualify if they are existing Piedmont Electric members with homes already served by the utility; new construction is not eligible.
This loan program, administered through ElecTel Cooperative Federal Credit Union, provides Piedmont Electric members with financing up to $30,000 for 10-year terms at market rates to support residential energy efficiency and renewable energy projects. The program targets existing homes (not new construction) and covers multiple technologies from heat pumps and insulation to solar and EV charging, with application processing handled through the credit union partner.

Program summary
Piedmont Electric Membership Corporation's (PEMC) Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Loan Program is available to eligible Piedmont Electric members to finance the purchase and installation of an energy efficient electric heat pump, replacement of poorly insulated doors and windows, and/or additional insulation in their home at low interest rates. The loan is also available for solar water heaters, solar panels and central A/C systems. Approved consumers may borrow up to $30,000 for ten years at market interest rates.
