Mohave Electric Cooperative - Renewable Energy Incentive Program

Mohave Electric Cooperative's SunWatts program offers rebates of 5 cents per watt for residential photovoltaic, wind, and solar water heating systems, with a $2,500 maximum incentive per system (up to 50 kW). You must submit a reservation form with your contractor's cost estimate before work begins, then follow a four-step approval and documentation process including interconnection agreements, system certification after installation, and final inspection before receiving your rebate. The SunWatts program allows you to help residential and small commercial customers access 5-cent-per-watt rebates (capped at $2,500) for solar, wind, and solar water heating installations. Your customer must pre-approve the project with a signed reservation form and cost estimate; you'll need to submit a completed System Qualifications-Contractor Certification form initialing nine compliance items after installation, and the customer must obtain building permits and final inspections before the cooperative verifies the system and processes the rebate. Leased systems are ineligible for incentives.

SunWatts is funded by the Renewable Energy Standard Tariff (REST), an ACC-mandated surcharge on member bills, and operates a reservation-based system with waitlisting if funds are unavailable. The four-step process requires Energy Management pre-approval of reservations, Engineering review of interconnection agreements, contractor certification post-installation, and final verification before rebate processing. Eligible customers are residential and small commercial members installing owned (not leased) PV, wind, or solar water heating systems up to 50 kW; backup batteries also qualify for rebates.
