Program Summary

Focus on Energy (FOE) and Wisconsin Public Service (WPS) are partnering to offer solar space-heating grants for feasibility studies and installations. Commercial projects undertaken by businesses, organizations, institutions, and government facilities are eligible. The Commercial Solar Space-Heating Feasibility Study Grant offers grants for 50% of study activities using solar energy systems for space and/or reheat applications. Individual grants are limited to $10,000 and are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. The studies should explore costs and benefits of solar space-heating, best technologies and designs, and technical, economic, and regulatory issues. The Commercial Solar Space-Heating Grant offers grants for solar air collectors and commercial re-heat systems. The grant will provide up to 25% of the installed project costs, or 35% for nonprofits. Both types of applicants are limited to $45,000. The grants will also cover 100% of the cost of monitoring equipment, up to $5,000. Grants will be awarded to applicants whose sites are ideal sites for installation and monitoring. Applications should be submitted to Focus on Energy will not be accepted after December 31, 2010.
