Program Summary
Note: Under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009, the U.
S. Department of Energy (DOE) is providing a total of $300 million to U.S. states, U.S. territories and the District of Columbia to establish rebate programs for new energy-efficient appliances that replace existing appliances in homes. Each state and territory has designed its own program. Rebates will be available until the state or territory program's funding is exhausted. Be sure to confirm that rebate funds are still available in your state or territory before making purchasing decisions. After one successful round of appliance rebates funded by the ARRA, the Arizona Department of Commerce began accepting applications for a second statewide appliance rebate program on July 1, 2010. Rebates will be awarded for qualifying freezers, refrigerators, room air conditioners and solar water heaters on a first-come, first-served basis until funding is exhausted for each of the product categories. Rebates will be awarded in the form of prepaid Visa cards. See website above for complete details.
