Nassau County - Green Power Purchasing Policy

In 2005, Nassau County adopted a resolution to purchase 25% of the county's electricity from renewable, carbon-neutral sources by 2010. The county has also developed a long-term Energy Policy and Action plan. Nassau County uses more than 29 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of green energy annually from solar, wind, geothermal, biomass, biogas and low-impact hydropower.
