Montana-Dakota Utilities - Commercial Energy Efficiency Incentive Program
Administered by Montana-Dakota Utilities Co.
This program is for commercial customers only, so it does not apply to residential homeowners.
You can help your commercial customers access rebates for high-efficiency natural gas furnaces ($300 for 95%+ AFUE models), LED and efficient lighting upgrades, and custom energy-saving projects—all funded on a first-come, first-served basis through the plan year (March 1–February 28). Projects over $1,000 require pre-approval before work begins, and you'll need to submit completed applications with dealer invoices and supporting documentation; payments are issued by check within 4–6 weeks, with no utility bill credits available.
Montana-Dakota administers separate natural gas and electric incentive programs for Montana and South Dakota commercial customers, funded annually on a plan-year basis (March 1–February 28) with limited, first-come, first-served budgets. Natural gas offerings include $300 rebates for furnace replacements (95%+ AFUE, existing customers only) and custom project rebates calculated on verified energy savings; electric offerings include prescriptive lighting rebates (all projects over $1,000 require pre-approval) and large custom partnership projects based on estimated energy savings and project economics. All payments are issued by check after 4–6 weeks processing; programs require completed applications, may require measurement and verification, and can be modified or canceled at any time.
