Program Summary

Note: The Georgia Environmental Facilities Authority (GEFA) began accepting rebate applications on October 19, 2009, and by October 20, 2009, had received applications exceeding the allocated amount of funding for this program.

This information is for reference only, funding has been exhausted. In April 2009, Georgia enacted legislation (HB 473) creating the Georgia Clean Energy Property Rebate Program. This program will use funding from the federal American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 to provide rebates for investments in renewable energy and energy efficiency. Projects using solar photovoltaics, solar thermal electric, domestic solar water heating, wind, geothermal heat pumps and certain energy-efficiency technologies are eligible for this rebate program. Systems that take advantage of this rebate are not eligible for the state's clean energy tax credit, but they may be eligible for federal clean energy tax incentives. For more information, see the program guidelines.
