Powder River Energy Corporation - Conservation Loan Program

Powder River Energy Corporation (PRECorp) offers the Conservation Loan Program to encourage and help finance residential and small commercial projects related to improving energy efficiency and conservation in northeastern Wyoming. The loans are reserved for PRECorp members in the Residential, Residential Time-of-Day and General Service rate classes only. The loan is a zero percent interest loan with a maximum payback time of 36 months. There is an application fee of 4% of the total requested loan amount. The loans can be used for a variety of conservation measures including, but not limited to: Purchasing Energy Star appliances Replacing older appliances with Energy Star appliances Replacing older windows with more energy efficient windows; Purchasing an energy efficient HVAC system (e.g., electric heat pump, geothermal heating, offpeak heating – electric thermal storage); Installation of renewable electric systems (e.g., solar, wind or hydro generation); Increasing insulation Upgrading lighting to CFLs All applicants must attend an energy conservation seminar or training session provided by PRECorp before loan funds will be distributed.
