VVEC offers rebates on Energy Star certified heat pump water heaters (up to $750 at 50% of cost), smart thermostats (up to $50 at 50% of cost), mini split heat pumps ($150 per outdoor unit), ground-source heat pumps ($300/ton for complete systems, $150/ton for indoor replacements), and air source heat pumps ($300–$500 per ton depending on fuel backup configuration). VVEC's program requires that heat pumps (mini split, ground-source, and air source) be installed by certified dealers and must meet specific Energy Star ratings (e.g., 15.2 SEER2 for mini splits, 8.1 HSPF2 or greater for ducted air source heat pumps). You must provide AHRI certificates, invoices, and load calculations with applications; mini splits cannot have auxiliary electric backup heat, and air source/ducted systems require dual fuel (fossil fuel backup) to qualify for the full rebate amount. Customers have 90 days post-installation to submit applications, and used or refurbished equipment does not qualify.
