If you're building a new home in Vermont, Efficiency Vermont offers free technical assistance to review your plans and identify ways to lower heating, cooling, and appliance costs—plus rebates for energy-efficient features like insulation, windows, and mechanical systems. Work with an Efficiency Excellence Network builder or architect, or enroll as a homeowner-builder yourself by contacting Efficiency Vermont early in your design process. Income-qualified households can receive up to $7,000 for implementing a checklist of energy-efficient measures.

The Residential New Construction program enables you to access technical support, builder-specific incentives, and standard rebates for projects that implement efficient insulation, ventilation, heating/cooling systems, windows, and appliances. Join the Efficiency Excellence Network's RNC Trade Group, enroll your project as early as possible in design, and work with your assigned energy consultant on rebate paperwork, code compliance, and equipment selection—all incentives can be combined. Income-qualified projects unlock additional incentives up to $7,000.

This rebate and technical assistance program targets new residential construction across Vermont through the Efficiency Excellence Network's RNC and Architect Trade Groups. Participants enroll projects, receive design review and energy modeling from consultants, and access incentives for drain water heat recovery, balanced ventilation, triple-pane windows, low-GWP insulation, HERS ratings, and all-electric homes. Income-qualified households (defined separately) are eligible for up to $7,000 in bundled efficiency incentives; standard projects receive per-measure rebates. Enrollment early in design maximizes technical support and locks in incentive rates.
