RG&E - Smart Energy Residential Efficiency Rebate Programs

RG&E offers multiple programs for residential customers for energy efficiency measures. The Smart Solutions program allows customers to purchase energy-efficient appliances and devices through the RG&E Smart Solutions online store, instant rebates are applied. Through the Smart Savings Rewards Thermostat Program, customers receive a $20 bill credit for participating in temperature adjustments. Through the Residential Rebates, program customers are eligible to receive rebates for installing energy-efficient natural gas equipment. Customers can complete one rebate application for multiple pieces of equipment as long as they are not the same type of equipment. Most products must be installed using a licensed contractor or a contractor that can supply either a Federal ID number, a Certificate of Insurance or a Business Certificate. Customers can refer to the ENERGY STAR web site for tips on how to find the right contractor. Through the Appliance Recycling Program customers are eligible for free pick up of old refrigerators or room AC units and eligible to receive $50 per refrigerator and $10 per AC unit. Additional Rebates are available through the NYS Clean Heat Rebate Program. This program helps customers replace oil, propane, or electrical resistance heaters with more energy-efficient heat pumps.
