Program Summary

KCP&L provides rebates of $800 to builders for every home that achieves the ENERGY STAR rating label. KCP&L also pays Home Energy Rating System Inspectors (HERS) up to $750 for the third party inspections and ratings required to achieve the ENERGY STAR rating. To earn the ENERGY STAR rebate, a home must meet strict guidelines for energy efficiency set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. These homes are at least 15% more energy efficient than homes built to the 2004 International Residential Code (IRC), and include additional energy-saving features that typically make them 20–30% more efficient than standard homes. Contact KCP&L for more information on this program.
