Program Summary

The ComEd Standard Offering is a comprehensive energy efficiency program designed to help businesses reduce energy consumption and save money through tailored incentives and support. Participants receive a free facility assessment, either in-person or virtual, conducted by an approved energy engineer, who identifies eligible energy-saving opportunities. This assessment results in a customized report with recommendations suited to the specific needs and budget of each facility. While assessments are recommended, they are not required to apply for incentives.

The program covers a broad range of systems including lighting, HVAC, refrigeration, compressed air, commercial equipment, energy management systems, and more. Additional incentives are available for projects submitted within specific timeframes or under certain criteria. For example, customers can earn up to 30% in bonus incentives by combining a 20% incentive for being in a “select community” and a 10% “Made in Illinois” incentive for using qualifying locally-manufactured equipment. These additional incentives are available for projects that meet specific submission deadlines, June 30, 2025 for the full 30%, or October 31, 2025 for the 20%. Equipment must be at least 50% manufactured or assembled in Illinois to qualify for the 10% kicker, with documentation required. To help businesses plan and quantify potential savings, ComEd also offers a Measure Calculator, and features several case studies highlighting successful projects across sectors like education, healthcare, retail, manufacturing, and government. Notable participants include Columbia College, North Riverside Park Mall, and Anfinsen Plastic Molding, each of which realized significant energy and cost savings.
