Santee Cooper's voluntary green power purchasing program, launched in 2001 and Green-e Energy certified, operates across 20 state electric cooperatives and the City of Georgetown, with a portfolio of six landfill gas stations, nine solar projects, and one wind turbine. Revenue from residential ($3/100 kWh) and commercial ($6/200 kWh) block purchases funds renewable generation expansion and has supported 28 Green Power Solar School projects; the program also offers event-based purchasing at $6 per 200 kWh block with a five-block minimum.
