Energy Savings in Capital Projects

In 2005, Maryland approved SB 92, defining the state review requirements for the construction of higher performance buildings. The legislation further defined high performance buildings as those receiving at least a silver rating according to the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED* Rating System, at least a two globe rating according to the Green Globes Program as adopted by the Green Building Initiative; or other green building guidelines approved by the State. This section of Maryland law was repealed in 2007 by HB 942.
