Ozark Border Electric Cooperative offers rebates on energy-efficient heat pumps, heat pump water heaters, smart thermostats, and mini-split systems for member-owners who use at least 6,000 kWh annually. To qualify, you must live in a permanent structure on owned land, submit an original sales receipt and completed application within 90 days of purchase, and the equipment must meet specified Energy Star or DOE efficiency ratings—rebates are capped at 50% of the unit cost. Certified dealers installing air source heat pumps and ground source heat pumps must ensure equipment meets Energy Star ratings (8.1 HSPF2 or higher for air source, Energy Star +2 SEER for ground source) and provide AHRI certificates to enable customer rebates. The program requires all equipment to be new or replacement units installed with automatic thermostats, and the Cooperative reserves the right to inspect installations and may conduct random verifications.

This rebate program targets residential member-owners consuming at least 6,000 kWh annually, offering tiered incentives: $150–$750 for mini-splits and smart thermostats, $300–$500 per ton for air source heat pumps (replacement vs. new), and $300–$750 per ton for ground source systems. The Cooperative funds rebates from member revenues, caps payouts at 50% of equipment cost, limits certain technologies per meter (e.g., two mini-splits, one air-source heat pump), and requires AHRI certificates and dealer certification for heat pump installations within 90 days of purchase.
