Southside Electric Cooperative - Energy Efficiency Loan Program

Southside Electric Cooperative offers loans to its residential customers to help finance improvements to their homes' energy efficiency. Low interest loans of up to $15,000 (unsecured) can be obtained by eligible SEC members to finance specific energy conservation measures for homes to include caulking, weatherstripping, insulation, water heaters, heat pumps, attic ventilation fans, energy efficient heating/cooling systems, storm windows and doors, etc., under the ECHI program. ClimateSelect and PROJECTLOAN, to helpmembers purchase energy-efficient measures and/or provide renewable-energy options to help members go green. Some 25 eligible improvements, e.g. heat pumps, air conditioners, geothermal products, etc., can be obtained under the ClimateSelect loan program, while more than 30 eligible improvements, e.g. photovoltaic/solar cells, solar thermal collectors, geoexchange systems and wind turbines, etc., can be obtained under the PROJECTLOAN program.
