As a South Alabama Electric Cooperative member, you can borrow money to cover labor and materials for energy upgrades like insulation, efficient windows and doors, and heat pumps on your home. To qualify, you must have been a member for at least 12 months, own your home, meet credit requirements, and submit a completed loan application online or by mail.
You can work with SAEC members on ERC loan-financed projects for insulation, windows, doors, and heat pump installations on existing homes. Customers must be cooperative members in good standing with at least 12 months of membership and home ownership, so verify eligibility before quoting work.
The ERC Loan Program finances energy conservation improvements (insulation, windows, doors, high-efficiency and geothermal heat pumps) for existing residential structures owned by cooperative members. Loans are restricted to members with 12+ consecutive months of membership, home ownership, and satisfactory credit ratings; applicants apply online or via mailed form.

Program summary
South Alabama Electric Cooperative (SAEC) is a part owner of Alabama Electric Cooperative which has a generation facility in Andalusia, Alabama. The Energy Resources Conservation Loan (ERC) helps members of the cooperative cover the cost of labor and materials for energy conservation measures on existing structures. Loans will only be made to members who have good credit ratings and also own the structures to be weatherized. ERC loans may be provided to finance the cost of labor and materials for items such as insulation, storm or thermal windows, storm or thermal doors and high efficiency heat pumps.
