Program Summary

Austin Utilities offers incentives to its residential customers for the installation of energy-efficient equipment in homes. Rebates are available for both electric and natural gas equipment. Eligible equipment includes a variety of appliances, room and central A/C, heat pumps, boilers, furnaces, water heaters, lighting, insulation, and programmable thermostats. Recycling rebates for refrigerators, freezers, dehumidifiers, and room air conditioners are only available to customers who properly recycle their old working models. Austin Utilities will reimburse the customer for specified recycling costs if they have proof that they recycled their old unit and replaced it with an ENERGY STAR model. Rebates are available until calendar year program funding is exhausted.Austin Utilities also offers rebates for solar photovoltaics, solar water heating, and shade trees.
