Nevada Power - Residential Energy Efficiency Rebate Programs

Nevada Power offers rebates to their customers who purchase qualified ENERGY STAR refrigerators and clothes washers, and rebates for the installation of high efficiency (14 SEER +) A/C units. Nevada Power will also pick up and recycle their customers' old, inefficient refrigerators, and provide a check in the amount of $30 for participating. Nevada power also offers rate restructuring plans for home owners to participate in Cool Credit and Time-Of-Use load management programs. The load management programs offer reduced electricity rates for home-owners agreeing to install a receiver switch on A/C units, allowing utility to suspend use for 10 minutes every 30 minute interval from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. during the months of June to September. Lower rates offer is also extended to those home-owners agreeing to pay higher rates during these peak use periods of summer.
