Program Summary

NYSERDA’s Smart Equipment Choices Program is designed to accelerate the installation of small renovation and equipment replacement in non-residential structures. A variety of energy efficient measures are available for financial incentives under this program. To apply for incentives, an applicant may submit a pre-approval application prior to purchase and installation and NYSERDA will issue a commitment incentive letter. An applicant may also submit an approval request following installation and, if approved, an incentive payment will be issued. In either case, NYSERDA reserves the right to require post-installation visits for up to 24 months. The current funding is good for equipment purchased between November 28, 2005 and September 30, 2006. The equipment standards eligible for incentives are listed in the application form found at the program website. Eligible customers are electricity distribution customers of Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corporation, Consolidated Edison Company of New York, Inc., New York State Electric & Gas Corporation, Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation, Orange and Rockland Utilities, Inc., and Rochester Gas and Electric Corporation who pay the System Benefits Charge (SBC).
