Efficiency Maine Commercial and Industrial Prescriptive Program

This program is not available to single-family homeowners, duplexes, or condominiums—it serves businesses, municipalities, schools, and multifamily buildings with three or more units. If you operate a commercial property or manage a larger residential building, you can access prescriptive rebates for equipment like HVAC systems, refrigeration, lighting, water heaters, and compressed air systems by working with an Efficiency Maine Qualified Partner.

Partner with Efficiency Maine as a Qualified Partner to help your commercial and institutional customers access prescriptive rebates across heating, cooling, refrigeration, lighting, compressed air, water heating, and agricultural equipment. The program requires customers to work through approved partners and accept the program's Terms and Conditions; non-partner contractors can pursue the Qualified Partner pathway to offer these incentives to their clients.

The Commercial and Industrial Prescriptive Program delivers rebates for specified equipment categories across commercial, industrial, nonprofit, government, multifamily (3+ units), and agricultural sectors—explicitly excluding single-family homes, duplexes, and condominiums. A companion Custom Program provides awards from $10,000 to $1 million per customer per year (up to 50% of project cost) for site-specific projects requiring engineering analysis; customers may also access free scoping audits and technical assistance. Implementation occurs through a Qualified Partner network that undergoes vetting and training.
