Biodiesel and Ethanol Sales and Use Tax Deferrals

Washington offers sales and use tax deferrals to manufacturers of biodiesel, biodiesel feedstock, and alcohol fuel if manufacturing occurs in a county with fewer than 100 persons per square mile or in a county containing a community empowerment zone. In the case of the community empowerment zones, the manufacturers must hire one qualified employee who is a resident of the community empowerment zone for each $750,000 on which a tax deferral is requested.
