Program Summary

House Bill 2161, passed by the 1995 Kansas Legislature, was signed into law by Governor Bill Graves on May 17, 1995. Although not currently funded, it establishes an alternative fuels loan program to assist government agencies, except at the state level, in purchasing new alternative fueled vehicles, converting existing motor vehicles, or constructing fueling facilities. This program would apply to counties, cities, school districts and other governmental units, including public transit agencies.
