Program Summary

Note: The deadline for the 2008 round of funding has expired.

Information on future requests for proposals (RFPs) will be posted as it becomes available. On an annual basis -- usually in June -- the Michigan Energy Office solicits proposals for community education programs to help consumers better understand energy efficiency and renewable-energy options. Community Energy Project Grants are available to public entities and non-profit organizations. The deadline for proposals for the latest round of grants was July 15, 2008. The grants will cover one year from October 1, 2008, through September 31, 2009. Projects eligible for the 2008-2009 round of grants include renewable energy, building energy efficiency, and transportation energy efficiency. The maximum individual award is typically $6,000 and the Michigan Energy Office expects to award roughly 15 grants under the current funding cycle.
